DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT

At Terrain Garden Café, lose yourself in a mix of gastronomy and nature — the establishment combines a café, garden, and shop in one breathtaking space. Joe’s Pizza & Italian Restaurant, an institution in its own right, is the go-to for authentic, comfort-laden pies that have captured hearts for decades. Meanwhile, The Whelk offers seafood lovers an extraordinary dining experience with its location overlooking the Saugatuck River. The atmosphere is casual yet classy — an excellent spot to enjoy your drink of choice.

Several of Westport’s best restaurants, including The Whelk, enjoy waterfront locations. Bartaco is a great place to eat tacos and other Mexican food. Overlooking the Saugatuck River, the eatery has a laid-back atmosphere and outdoor seating with a view (the menu includes duck birria, roasted half chicken, glazed pork belly rice bowl, and key lime pie in a jar). About 1.5 miles down the river, you’ll find Parker Mansion, a casual restaurant with various menu options. You can sit dockside, on the patio, or inside. The menu includes burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, pizza, pasta, salmon, shrimp, and clams. Try the chocolate chip cookie or coconut pecan carrot cake for dessert.
